The Charleston Slave Market

As I was walking through the market, I saw a beautiful mural. Unknown to me, I was in what was considered at one point one of Charleston, SC's Slave Markets. After auctioning slaves became prohibited, slave markets started opening up. For more information goto: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Slave_Mart

Presently, this market is used to see all sorts of items ranging from hand woven baskets to clay tiles to shoes made in china. And in case you get hungry there are tons of restaurants around the perimeter as well as on adjacent streets. Parking is a bit scarce, it may be easier to park in a lot and walk around.
